Etwatwa branch was established in 1998/99, with Pastor L.M Nonxuba. The branch started with home fellowships using Mr and Mrs Manana’s Home. The branch started to try to accommodate saints who could not travel from Etwatwa to Daveyton every Sunday due to financial constraints, then Apostle I.N Sithole heard their plea and agreed to start this branch.

We held our first service at Rolihlahla Primary School, where we hired a classroom. We fellowshipped at the school for few years. We then erected a tent next to the school in Citicon.

Following that we moved to the disused building next to the school. The building had no windows, doors, electricity and ceiling was falling apart.

We then moved to Stompie Skhosana Hall. When we first used the hall, we were sharing it with another church, so we would have service from 09:00 to 10:30. We had this arrangement until the other Church go its own land.

We used the hall several years until we decided to erect a tent an empty space next to the hall. We would erect our tent every Sunday and take it down after each service. We did this until we moved to our home on the 14th April 2013.

Like any other organisation we had challenges over the years but that did not stop, derail or discourage us. There was a time we did not have a pastor. The Apostle would send preachers to the branch every Sunday to come and minister to us. Speakers like the late Mrs Faith Mabanga, Dr. Anderson, Pastor Bonginkosi Khumalo, Pastor Bhekani Zuma and others.

We went through a period where booking the hall was not easy due to some challenges but that did not discourage us. We could not use the hall in every first Sunday of the month because it was used by other people. We initially used Mrs Dinah Rakitla’s Home every first Sunday of the month. We also used her home for all midweek prayers and services, we will be forever grateful for that.

Pastor P.J Singeni has been charged with the responsibility of taking the Etwatwa Branch to the next level.
